LIFESTYLE RETREAT LOUNGE - LRL  -  MIAMI SWIM WEEK  by JEIMY MARTINEZ

Looking amazing is a must in the fashion industry. This past weekend the James Royal Palm hotel took care of that need as they hosted the Lifestyle Retreat Lounge.  For the fourth annual year the LRL pampered guests as they spent the day sampling complimentary appetizers and drinks from Fifty Pounds Gin, Vida Tequila and the Florida Cookery,  getting their nails designed by LVX, which this season partnered with Mara Hoffman for their swimwear collection, and getting their hair done by a stylist from Safar who had a pop-up salon where they gave all willing attendees 5 minute makeovers. LRL also gave companies the opportunity to present their new collections to industry buyers, and the media. Among those showcasing their brand was Ibiza Passion, whose bright colors added a splash of fun to any attire. Clothing line Long Hair Don’t Care even had a photo booth where everyone had a chance to take playful pictures with props such as fake mustaches and big Mexican sombreros, all while learning about the inspiration for this collection by founder Kasey Murdock who was there giving away complimentary t-shirts. Among those attending were model Nina Agdal,  the face of the event and famous designer Betsey Johnson! The LRL helped everyone relax and step out of the heat for a few hours of fun and networking.

Minimale Animale Miami Swim Week -2014 Collection - COME

South Beach Miami- The OASIS tent at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2014 Collections was filled to capacity on Monday July 22 for the Minimale Animale  runway show.  The Venice Beach brand delivered a sexy collection, the silhouette was athletic with barely there bathing suits, lots of playful mesh with one that had appropriately placed palm trees on a once piece suit and a pair of 7’s on a cropped sleeveless mesh top with high wasted bottom that had mesh inserts, as well as jersey inspired cover ups that were reminiscent of the styles from the late 80’s. The models wore minimal makeup, wet hair that was slicked back and no heels or accessories which focused the attention to the suites.  Playful, fun, sporty and definitely sexy, this collection will turn up the heat for summer 2014.

BARRACA CHIC - Moments Resort Collection 2014, SLS Hotel South Beach Miami

South Beach Miami, Florida - Not even the torrential rain could stop the 2014 Barraca Chic collection that took place at the SLS Hotel in South Beach to kick off SWIM week.

This luxury alpine beachwear brand presented a collection inspired by cities around the world, added glitz and glamour by incorporating nearly 10,000 Swarovski crystals set by hand and holiday inspired pieces for all the snowbirds leaving the cold weather behind during the winter. The collection also had pieces for men including a tuxedo-trouser and versatile shorts that dry quickly and maintain an elegant yet sporty appearance. 

The crowd took cover by the side of the pool where couches, lounge chairs and ottomans decorated the space; they also sipped on cocktails and listened to funky beats by the guest dj.
