TAVIK Swimwear -American Goodness - L.A. Fashion Weekend at Sunset Gower Studios
Mikey Koffman from The Gallery Los Angeles was pleasant enough to bring us L.A. Fashion Weekend featuring Nicole Hanriot's TAVIK Swimwear Collection. Much to say the line was all about being a tourist and living in L.A. as well as waiting to see a TAVIK Swimwear boutique pop-up on Hollywood Blvd. Muscle Thresh tank tops in Multi Neon colors mixed with Wetsuit styles; Art Deco Cuts, and Stonewashed prints gave way to walking in L.A.




Also featured were Mens Board shorts in Red White and Blue.




With Retro Rock in mind and Rock Fashion Week LA around the corner; The rest of the show included gear by Urban Republic Clothing with stone grey jeans shorts; RAW with spandex boy shorts worn with tall leather motorcycle boots and DIVISION bringing more spandex shorts and tie-dye jumpers.


Celebrity sighting goes to Mena Suvari and Fashion Maverick Dean Factor of Smashbox Studios.

V Del Sol 2010 – Whisper of Revolution – MBFW Swim, Miami
Standing outside the tents waiting for the last show for Fashion Week, I was fortunate enough to meet with peeps from V Del Sol prior to their latest collection for 2010. Inside the hostess and designer herself, a former Miss France, Veronique de la Cruz, gave us a flirtatious and very pretty collection mixed with her Velvet Blacks and Metallic Gun Metal Sequins. Her Metallic White One Piece; a must have for the Swim Shot Photo Shoot for those striving Models and Actors to perk up their portfolio.

Lourdes blew it off!! Showing her collection in Four Parts being Rumba, Boom Boom Boom, Fiesta in Miami, and Pasion. What this all means is anything Latin mixed with frills, cheetah and flowers, cool medallions by Alicia Shulman, polka dots and dark burgundy and lacquer yellow, animal prints and suspendered bikinis. She’s got beats for ya.

Kicking it Retro Style, Cia. Maritima, brings us the looks of the 90’s with deep inspirations from Gianni Versace our old friend. His melodic GV Prints are seen on the entire collection thru his Tunics, Monokinis and Sets. Flirtatious favorites are the Fernanda in a Troia print ruched mini dress in Gold with it’s matching partner halter top with brief bottom and shell golden details. This years collection by Amahlia Stevens brings us real Pool Party Culture with her Kimono Gloss Silk Tunics in White, Pool, India Pink, Emerald and ULTRAVIOLET!!!! Okay, also must haves on her collection is the Ultra Luxe Cutout Maillot in Black Crochet and Cosmo Deluxe in Oslo White Texture & Superstar Bottom in 24k Metallic. Running down the aisle in Goddess Trojan Sandals, Amahlia strapped her models with inspiration coming from edges in Norway and pages from Yves Saint Laurent.

Paola Robba and her Parisian Brazilian effects gives us the base front for Poko Pano’s 2010 swim line mixed with goddess effects and chili pepper floral prints but over hauling it with her Disco Magentas and Nurses working OverTime city beach glam. Her interiorness gives the edge of the collection with her stripes and polka dots symbolizing the Amazonian forests’ effect on earth with a focus on the “Guarana bandeau top and multi-stripe single tie-side bottom worn with a button front cover”; given to charity for environmental growth. How clever and exquisitely put.

Leah Madden, designer, brings us her collection straight from the Runways at Sanctuary Cove Austrailia. Oooh lucky us. Her sweet floral collection was full of cute solid tunics and water marked print designs in Black and White. Worn with White Clogs for easy standing you can take your look inside and out. Another jungle favorite which seemed to be a good theme this year was the ‘Poolside’ Pant in palm print silk habutai worn with the ‘High Society’ Bikini Top.

Another sexy and stylish collection by Ed Hardy in cool sequins and tattoo graphics for the gangsta in you. I would suggest you buy an Ed Hardy suit for everyday of the week and don’t leave out the VERY Cool unisex Silk Trunks with matching Tops .. boys not included having there own set of hyper gear . New Ed Hardy Skim Boards were also very stylish and first seen by Bikini Shell early that morning at the unveiling of the Ed Hardy Edible Bikini at Sushi Samba by creator Fawn Arthur and Chef, Sergio Navarro and Chef Juliana Gonzalez. Just to have one on your deck is a must have for all those Beach Junkies. Also there to model the Ed Hardy Collection was USA Water Polo Men’s National player, Thomas Hopkins.

Mara Hoffman Swim Spring Resort 2010- Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2010, Miami
The Mara Hoffman show I would say definitely takes runner up for sexiest show this season with her beaded body necklaces. Too too hot! They were ultra sexy to say the least. My favs were ISIS; a Black Beaded Drape Bikini and a ~Galaxy Bandeau Bikini, with a Silver Bead Body Cage. Celebrity sighting goes to Olivia Palermo from DVF and MTV show “The City”.
